I am sure you already know that heaven is where the throne of God is. It is a place of love, joy and peace. There there is no sorrow, no tears, no pain. It is full of an endless stream of that which is good and comely. It is the eternal habitation of the righteous – who earned their entry into heaven by their faith in Jesus while on earth.
I am sure you already know too, that hell is a place of irreversible suffering, torture and pain that knows no end. It is the eternal habitation of the wicked (sinners) – who earned their entry into it through rejection and disobedience to the word of God, when they refused to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour while on earth.
Hell and it’s experiences are the direct opposite of heaven. The only thing heaven and hell have in common is longevity: both are eternal.
Experiencing eternity is not optional, it is compulsory. Eternity is not temporary, it is permanent. Once you step into eternity you have stepped into permanence.
The spiritual state you stepped into eternity is critical. If you stepped in as a sinner, you are eternally lost and miserable. If you stepped into eternity with Jesus, you are forever blessed and joyful.
There are only two things on earth that have eternal value: the soul of man and your relationship with God. They are the only two things we take along with us to eternity – 2 Corinthians. 4:18. Every other thing (you can name them) will perish with the earth – 2 Peter. 3:10. Walk and work with eternity in view. Don’t be caught dead without Jesus.
How do I connect with Jesus and belong to Him permanently? Simple. It is simple because, as we shall soon see, God has paid the price through His Son, Jesus Christ. The price for your soul is so high that no man, dead or alive, could pay or can pay for it:
__None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious….) Psalm. 49: 7-8._
However, God, in His mercy, has made salvation – the saving of your soul from eternal destruction – the simplest and cheapest thing in heaven and earth.
To prove that point, let us see Romans. 10: 9-10:
_That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation._
To believe and to confess is something anyone can do. The rich can believe and confess; the poor can too. The old can believe and confess; the young can too. The educated can believe and confess; the uneducated can too. All men, black, white, brown, from any ethnic nationality can believe and confess.
God made the matter of the salvation of your soul the simplest and cheapest thing to do (in heaven and earth), so that neither you nor any man will have an excuse for not being saved.
You won’t be able to say, “I was not saved because I did not have money, neither will you be able to say, “I was not saved because I could neither afford nor do a particular sacrifice!”
All God requires you to do, is to believe and confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Do you know anything simpler and cheaper? That is why faith (faith in Jesus) is the best way to please God.
